(Responding to this post about The Great Comet on Broadway)

Did they do the thing in Letters where they get an audience member to carry the letter from Anatole to Natasha? For some reason that really stuck with me when I saw it at the ART. It’s sort of… making the audience complicit, I guess.

Fun fact, btw: when I was watching Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 at the ART last winter, I noticed that I was physically trembling. “Wow, this show is really affecting me!” I thought.

Then I noticed that while I was indeed getting chills up my spine at particularly beautiful moments, the shaking - it had escalated to shaking from trembling by the end of the second act - did not seem to correlate with the chills. “It must be really chilly in here!” I thought.

When I got home, I measured my temperature, and it turned out that I had a 104 degree fever.
