Midnight post

 So today, I was thinking. Thinking is a dangerous thing, but occasionally useful. Today’s thinking has led me to the following resolution: whenever it is midnight and I am in bed communing with my laptop, I will make a post. In theory, this should help me practice mindfulness.  Not sure how well it will work in practice, but…

So, what am I doing on my laptop tonight? Scrolling through my dash, mostly. I mean, I have a figure skating video and 15 bajillion fics open, but really, I’m just seeing what other people have to say. 

This post has been making the rounds, and… yeah, I’m part of that problem. I’m that person, the one that reads a story, likes it, and forgets entirely to leave any sort of feedback. In part because of self-consciousness, in part because I don’t want to stop reading things, in part because it feels unfair that I would read ten amazing fics and only comment on one of them, because that’s what I have the spoons for. (Obviously, commenting on none of them is even more unfair, but my hindbrain doesn’t seem to know that.) And the Kudos button helps with all of that! I love the Kudos button! 

Which doesn’t excuse the times when I don’t click kudos either. Sometimes I really disappoint myself. Sigh.

Awww, the post you linked to is gone. Sigh. Away goes Tumblr. Be kind to yourself though. Yes, authors love feedback. LOVE IT. I know some people get super stressed about leaving any FB and think they have to be rhapsodic in their praise. It's a blessing if you can give it. It's understandable that you can't or don't.
